My name is Dan Hall (he/him), and I am running for re-election for AD-51 Delegate on the Progressive Slate to fight for a more inclusive and just California. I serve on the Santa Monica City Council where I am focused on housing affordability, inclusion, clean streets and safe neighborhoods, and good government.
I am an LGBTQ+ veteran, West Point graduate, and one of the Army’s first openly gay helicopter pilots, serving in Iraq, Kuwait, and South Korea. A sense of duty drove me to join despite “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” which forced me to hide my identity in order to serve our country. After the policy lifted, I advocated for LGBTQ+ health care in the military, pushing for access to HIV-prevention drugs (PrEP), promoting mental health, and supporting transitioning transgender soldiers.
For my day job, I am a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion professional, working to break systems that perpetuate bias and oppression in the workforce, while building an inclusive culture of belonging. I come from previous experience launching electric delivery vans, where I focused deployment on distressed neighborhoods most vulnerable to vehicular pollution.
I previously served as the Vice President of Political Action and as Treasurer of the Santa Monica Democratic Club, and am active in the Stonewall Democratic Club. I serve the California Democratic Party as a member of the Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee where we advocate for greater inclusion in the Party.
The California Democratic Party must stand up for those least among us. As a delegate, I will continue to fight for LGBTQ+ rights, racial justice, veterans issues, and a green economy of the future. I believe in affordable housing, rent control, gun control, strong public schools, and supporting working families.
Find me on all socials at the handle “@electdanhall”. I would be honored to earn your vote.
