I’m running on the Progressive Slate! As an elected delegate for the past two years, I’ve used my position to hold politicians accountable and promote progressive policies. Here are my top three actions as a delegate:

1) I spoke with 6 Democrats running in my congressional district (CA30) seeking our endorsement. I pressed them on important issues facing a division in the party, including the  military budget, foreign policy, a ceasefire in Gaza, foreign aid, housing, the homeless crisis, transit, and universal healthcare. After over 5 hours of conversations with candidates, I voted  for our now-elected Congresswoman Laura Friedman.

2) I collaborated with groups like Hollywood4CalCare and the CA Nurses Association to  support CalCare, the universal healthcare bill here in the state! I used my position to get  multiple meetings with Assemblymember Rick Zbur and his staff to push him to support the bill. 

3) At the convention, I rallied votes to ensure authentic progressive leadership was elected in the California Democrats Progressive Caucus, which is vital to hold our politicians accountable in Sacramento.

I’ve volunteered on three successful LA City Council campaigns (Nithya Raman, Hugo Soto Martinez, Ysabel Jurado) where the Progressive Democrat challengers beat the incumbents! My political journey started knocking doors for Bernie Sanders in Nevada in 2019.  

I have never been paid to work in politics, so I’m not afraid to call out politicians when they stray from our values! My day job is casting TV shows. I’ve had the chance to bring diverse and unique voices to the screens of millions of people around the globe! I interview people nationwide daily, giving me a little insight into how the average American feels. For the past 8  years, I’ve been singing with the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles. While we perform in some of the best venues in SoCal, our best work is doing school assemblies and free community concerts.

Even if we don’t agree on some issues, we are all on the same team! I want to expand the party and bring more people under our big tent, including young people and progressives. We need to give people something to vote for, not just against something to vote against!
