Naomi Goldman

I’m Naomi Goldman and I’m proud to be running for re-election on the Progressive Slate to continue to represent Assembly District 51 as a delegate to the California Democratic Party -because we have much work ahead to lift up all Californians, and to help our communities recover and rebuild from fire devastation in Los Angeles.

I’m a Jewish, feminist, daughter of an immigrant, lifelong social justice advocate and longtime Westwood resident & UCLA alumna.  I’ve dedicated my public affairs career to engaging communities and addressing our most pressing social issues: housing and homelessness, food insecurity, reproductive justice, public health, economic equity, hate and discrimination, gun violence and disasters. I am a former senior staffer to the LA County Board of Supervisors and LA City Council; run a woman-owned public relations/public affairs/crisis management firm; and serve as a Disaster Responder/Educator and Public Information Officer for Red Cross Los Angeles.

As a 2-term delegate to the California Democratic Party, I’m on the Executive Board of the Party’s Women’s Caucus and a Legislative Committee member; elected AD51 delegate to the Democratic Party of the San Fernando Valley (DPSFV); member of the Westside Democratic HQ Steering Committee; and Executive Board member of Democrats for Israel-California. I’m honored to be the Advocacy Chair/Public Policy Co-Chair of the National Women’s Political Caucus of California; invested deeply in GOTV to elect many of our local, state and federal Democratic leaders; and work with nonprofits to affect legislative action in LA, Sacramento and Washington, DC. I’m an active member of the Santa Monica, Stonewall, Miracle Mile, West LA and Heart of LA Democratic Clubs. 

We must invest in our most vulnerable Californians and make bold, systemic and sustainable change.  It’s not radical to demand that everyone should have food, affordable housing, a living wage, quality healthcare, mental health services and education, and have their rights protected in communities where they feel welcome and safe.

These are challenging years ahead. Our Party needs champions dedicated to opportunity for all and I’m that proven advocate & activist.  I’d be honored to receive your vote & continue my service on behalf of the AD51 community with the Progressive Slate!
